Polar bear babies are typically born during November to December. After four months darkens in the bear’s den, in the next spring, polar Bear cubs emerge from their arctic den and gaze out into their new world for the very first time with curiosity. Only a few dozen photographers annually are able to see this precious scene.
This polar bear-themed tour is specially designed for photography enthusiasts who love wildlife and nature. In the world’s largest polar bear denning area, you will witness polar bear cubs emerge from their den for the first time, watch them clumsily and excitedly take their first bear steps on the snow, follow in their mother’s footsteps and explore the world; After a few days of observation and shooting, you will capture countless precious moments. In addition, you can also see the northern lights lighting up the night sky.
Arrive in Winnipeg. Take a tour of the city on your own.
The Polar Bear photography journey begins with a morning flight from Winnipeg to Churchill. You will be picked up at the airport and taken to the Seaport Hotel for an overnight stay and a day room the following day.
You have plenty of time to prepare for your following journey in the hotel or spend time discovering the city. Board the evening train to Chesnaye, the transfer to the Polar Bear Mother and Cub Lodge, assisted by your expedition leader.
Immerse yourself in the world’s largest polar bear denning area in the next 8 days. Spend these days observing polar bear cubs emerge from their Arctic den and explore this world under bear mothers’ companions.
Breakfast at the lodge starts at about 7 AM. Departure from the lodge at about 9 AM. Lunch is served in the transport vehicles. Soup, sandwiches, fruit, coffee and tea. Return to the lodge about 5 PM. Fruit and appetizers are served. Dinner is served at about 7 PM. If skies are clear Northern Lights can be photographed in the evenings.
Leave this magic place, take the morning train back to Churchill and spend an overnight at Seaport Hotel.
